Råneå & Berwick Digital Exchange Residency
In June 2021, there was an online event hosted by Swedenlaplandair and Berwick Visual Arts, with Javier Rodriguez, where Mats Wikstrom and Morag discussed their digital residency. You can watch the film HERE.
The digital exchange is between and Morag and Mats Wikstrom in Råneå, Sweden, to learn about each other's practice and the creative communities they are part of within their respective rural localities. The object is to discover what skills and experiences the practitioners can share and learn from each other to inform how new ways of working within our rural creative communities could benefit local cultural production. With the additional benefit of creating and maintaining links with our European neighbours.
Morag has created a set of three images based on a poem by Swedish poet David VIkgren: 'Malmen Skogen Vattenkraften' ('The Ore Mine The Forest The Hydropower'). Three 'things' which define life in the north of Sweden. The poem is constructed entirely from the repitition of the three words.
